The Silence is Broken.

It just amazes me with all the spinning going on about of all things President Obama’s silence in the matter.

I knew what he was doing and he did mandate immediately while on vacation to the Director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, to increase all security measures on air transportation. He also cut his vacation short to address this important issue.

I knew what he was doing gathering information and planning his strategy to be able to put in place a plan that could be executed immediately beyond what he had already mandated. We as were part of his strategy to let us know what is going on. Remember transparency? This is something that you need to act on quickly with great deliberation of thought a plan of action. Not in a panic and all willly-nilly. When you panic you don’t think straight. He is just at concerned as we all are about this.

I can just imagine when he received the information that it took everything for him to be calm. I know he asked the question that we all have been asking, “How could a man from anywhere get on a plan that is on our al-Qaida terrorist list not be on the “no-fly” list. I am sure he also asked why is there a no fly list separate from the al-Qaida list? Oh good grief. Dangerous is dangerous and why are we separating different types of danger when it smells of al-Qaida from experience we know it is all bad take no chances.

Look we are targeted and at war just as President Obama stated in this video. We have to make sure that what we do with security can be executed and heightened on all fronts. Communication is key. President Obama speaks to his accountability as well as our governmental intelligence pertaining to this issue.  So let the man do his job again I say back off you nay saying spinners so that he can do what is needed to be done.

He found out why it happened and is putting  stricter measurements in place so get ready when you fly. Screenings are going to be tougher and so are the delays.

Even though he stated that he is not interested in the blame but he did find fault here and I know some heads are going to roll. What really gets me is that when our past President Bush was told about the 911 incident he sat still in his chair in the front of an elementary class and continued to just sit there, nothing was halted he didn’t cut anything short just sat there.

Did you hear any of that spinning going on about how fast he reacted to that terrorist attack? I didn’t hear anything about his response time.  So please step back again nay saying spinners if that is all you can talk about is President Obama’s response time then I am glad you are not on the Homeland Security Board I could imagine what your focus would be.

Okay off my soap box now.

Happy New Year and Welcome to Project S.A.V.E.

Earlier last year President Obama instituted a new program for federal employees that solicited the ideas of federal employees that would save the federal government money and perform better.

After many entrants the  first S.A.V.E award has gone to Nancy Fichtner.

Her idea was very simple she felt that

Nancy Fichtner from Colorado thinks that veterans leaving VA hospitals should be able to take the medicine they’ve been using home with them instead of it being thrown away when they’re discharged.

A Final Vote of Yea!

Yesterday Oct 13th marks a monumental time for the Obama administration, where the fifth and final committee to view the Bill has been approved.

The Financial Committee has passed the bill by a 14-9 vote it now moves to the Senate and House where there is  still needed a vote to pass the final versions of legislation, before the process can go to conference committee, and onto another vote in both houses.   The Finance Committee’s action today represents an enormous and critical step forward.

President Obama was prideful of this moment however he acknowledges that there is still much to go  and persistence is needed.

No matter what your thoughts are about this Bill there is one thing for sure there are many people working not just giving lip service to make our health care something better. Could this have been the real idea behind this new administration to get us thinking and moving more ahead with a resolution in writing and accountability towards health care? Something to think about huh?

We ARE going to get this done!

More for the Small Guy

Weekly Address 7-24-09

President Obama has stated in this weeks address that we are closer than ever in passing the Health Reform Bill that is before the Senate.  It has  been a long time coming says the President.  The government agencies and legislative branch has been working hard to bring forth a new light in health care.

After coming from a short trip to Ohio to visit the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and speak at a town hall meeting in Shaker Heights, OH one can definitely notice that he is persistent in getting Americans involved in the process. Urging us to contact and stay on our governmental representatives about this bill.

He wants us to send him our questions and he and his staff  will answer as many as they can this week.   It has taken months he urges to move carefully, and methodically.

One thing we have know and have grown to know more about him is of his concern for humanity. He feels the  damaged being done right now health to families he is  concerned about hard working adults to get the care they need when they need and the small biz owner, about children and grandchildren saddled with deficits.

He knows and tells us it is not a political game and can’t keep waiting we owe it to them/you/me/us to finally get it done and get it done this year.

I tried to go to this event on Thursday but to no avail tickets weren’t forwarded. I know that he will be back he has at least 3 more years.  It seemed that he was well received and that he was able to push forward with the urgency of the bill. He is ready to go all that is left is the passing of the bill.

Yes there will be things in it that cost and we don’t all like. I say get it going we can amend and tweak along the way. Sitting still serves no purpose but cause more harm.

Take a listen to the Town Hall this past Thursday at Shaker Heights High School

To God’s creation!!!

Well another land marking piece of legislature has been passed by the House of Representatives this past Friday. As President Obama congrats the House on the passing of the bill it still has yet to go to the Senate for approval.

The “American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009,” which has addressed many energy, environmental, and increased opportunities for jobs for Americans is half way to being a major part of our new legislation.

Clean and efficient energy is something that we and the world have been fighting for over a number of years. As I sit here and reminisce about an article I just saw earlier this week about the Homestead Mine in Sioux Falls, SD.  Where an abandoned mine is being used for “dark matter” research and they are digging even further into the ground! It is sited as being the just over three Empire state buildings deep, it just floors me that we are still doing things to desecrate and destroy the only planet we have to live on.

Regardless of what they are saying about the moon, mars and whatever else, take care of what you have before trampling around the universe for other areas of possible inhabitable worlds. Geez!!!

So my hat is off the those who are really concerned for getting us our planet back healthy and preserving our sacred lands.  As President Obama states, “We can’t be afraid of the future and that prisoners of the past.  We need to come together and meet our obligations – to our constituents, to our children, to God’s creation, and to future generations.”

Now onto the Senate and yes it will pass!!
