Yes you heard it! The President on this Thursday July 23, 2009 will be coming to OH. How excited I am to be hearing of this. As of this post the sign up for getting the free tickets to attend the town hall is closed. So I am waiting to hear if I received free tickets (2) to attend this town hall in my neck of the woods. I would love to be a part of this.
I remember when President Clinton came to my neck of the woods. My mom and I stood in line for 3-4 hrs. It was a blast! Talk about my little piece of history. So I’ll keep ya posted if I get a call!
I would love the opportunity to ask a question about a few items on his Health Reform Bill as so many Americans would. We will just have to see what happens. Stay tuned!
President Obama is urging us to stay the course with health reform. The status quo with health reform is not working. Talking is old and we need change now he is siting.
I agree that something needs to be done and it’s going to be big and over a long period of time. It didn’t take us a short period to get into this and it is going to take a long period for you to get to a new ground with health care.
I am sure there are all sorts of changes being proposed and some will make it through and others will not but we must do something to change the course of this river.
There are going to be opponents for everything in life that is a given but what we need to be mindful of is what is the outcome and how is it going to help or hurt. The simple fact is that too many Americans have no health insurance our nation’s obesity percentage goes up at least 15% over the past years.
We are not a healthy nation, we can not build, educate or move to high social-planes if our health is not well. President Obama promises to veto any health reform bill that will increase our deficient.
A few things I found interesting about this weekly address.
1. Some opponents think this health reform is a plot for socialized medicine or government health care. The president stated and feels that government shouldn’t run our health insurance plans and he is strongly against insurance companies having free rein to do whatever they want. There is a middle point here and that is the American people it is about us and for us and we must let our voices be heard.
2. An Insurance Exchange this is interesting….. A one stop marketing place where we can compare benefits, cost and track variety of insurance plans as well as accountability information. Included also is a public option to increase competition with insurance to keep them honest. Now don’t you just love that one putting them (health insurance companies) on the chopping block, lol!
I was glad to hear that the AMA (American Medical Association) and the ANA(American Nurses Association) has supported and backed this health care reform policy.
We can’t just sit by and do nothing anymore time for action, taking new steps to the right, left, up or down we need to step it up to help us become a healthier nation.
Well another land marking piece of legislature has been passed by the House of Representatives this past Friday. As President Obama congrats the House on the passing of the bill it still has yet to go to the Senate for approval.
The “American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009,” which has addressed many energy, environmental, and increased opportunities for jobs for Americans is half way to being a major part of our new legislation.
Clean and efficient energy is something that we and the world have been fighting for over a number of years. As I sit here and reminisce about an article I just saw earlier this week about the Homestead Mine in Sioux Falls, SD. Where an abandoned mine is being used for “dark matter” research and they are digging even further into the ground! It is sited as being the just over three Empire state buildings deep, it just floors me that we are still doing things to desecrate and destroy the only planet we have to live on.
Regardless of what they are saying about the moon, mars and whatever else, take care of what you have before trampling around the universe for other areas of possible inhabitable worlds. Geez!!!
So my hat is off the those who are really concerned for getting us our planet back healthy and preserving our sacred lands. AsPresident Obama states, “We can’t be afraid of the future and that prisoners of the past. We need to come together and meet our obligations – to our constituents, to our children, to God’s creation, and to future generations.”
I am proud to see the government get involved and help with the crack down of smoking of our kids. Just promotes a healthier America for our future we have to try and help our kids in anyway we can to be bright, innovative and healthy for the future of America.
This legislation may not total eliminate kids from smoking but the awareness that someone is really watching and trying to reduce this issue as much as possible is a great start in the right direction. This is something that we have been fighting for many years and centuries tobacco and the tobacco industry. Its about time that we do more than talk and watch while kids health is being threatened.
The weekly address to the American people from President Barack Obamahas two announcements that will be followed by the signing of two pieces of legislation soon to be signed.
The President has stated in this address that we need to speed up economic recovery a new foundation based on good jobs, sound investments and good good workers.
Clean energy and health care are two areas that he is attacking now.
New energy initiatives for a better world and stop dependency on foreign oil. by doing this we can create new jobs for Americans and develop the tools for the new global economy energy.
President Obama has found that those parties pertaining to health care and clean energy are beginning to eagerly show a willingness to come around common goals with different points of view.
President Barack has met with insurance drug companies, Doctors, labor unions to talk about and take necessary step to reduce health care cost. Recognizing we must act. Health reform is a must and the House of Representatives is currently working to pass a bill by end of this term.
Barack has always felt it is better to talk rather than remain silent and reach over the divide that shake a fist at it. Too long the way Washington has done this and a new foundation is being laid. Interest will not always align, there are more difficult days to come but he is confident on the governments start to combat all we are facing.
