Happy Easter Obama family and new dog Bo!!

It has leaked out and does it surprise you?  I just had to say congratulations and Happy Easter to the first family on their new addition to the family.  Senator Ed Kennedy gave the Portie, former named Charlie, to the first family as a gift.  Senator Kennedy felt it would be a good match for the first family being that he owns a few Porties.

A website called FirstDogCharlie published a picture Saturday morning purportedly of the puppy, which it said was originally named Charlie.

As reported by TMZ, Associated Press, and Los Angeles Times six-month-old Portuguese water dog given to the Obama girls as a gift by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts.  Malia and Sasha named him Bo.

 

Why Bo? Michelle’s late dad was nicked named “Didley” ( get it?) and the girls have a cousin with a cat named Bo.  It’s all in the family.

Bo is a precious and handsome looking Portie. He’s has a tuxedo-black fur, with a white chest, white paws and a rakish white goatee. He really looks nice and cozy to cuddle up with and well mannered from what the white house has reported during a special meeting at the white house called , The Meeting.

The Meeting was a surprise for Sasha and Malia, it is reported that Bo behaved very well and they all took well to Bo as Bo did also to them.  Seems like he made himself right at home. Animals know when someone has a great personality, character and that they will be treated right. Bo knows !

Even though the Obama’s wanted a rescue dog, this spin on things seems to fit. Senator Kennedy acquired the Portie, as it was with another family and the fit wasn’t so good.   Senator Kennedy took him in for the first family.  Another way of looking at it, is that the Obama’s rescued Bo, lol!

As for the rescue pledge, the Obama family came up with a solution to lend a serious symbolic note.  They’re going to make a donation to the D.C. Humane Society.

He will be showcased on Tuesday, April 14th .  I can’t wait to see the little guy in action. He really looks like  a nice looking dog and will be a great addition to the first families clan.
